Whether public or private, urban or rural, Mark helps healthcare executives, owners and governing boards improve the longer-term role, relevance and sustainability of their organizations. Along his 25-year career, he has acquired deep experience working in or advising health systems, hospitals, physician practice organizations, and other types of provider organizations.
The first 18 years of Mark’s career were in Chief-level roles within hospital systems – two community hospitals and a large University health system. Those experiences have equipped him with unique understanding of the nuanced issues healthcare executives face, and thus make him a more effective advisor to organizations in need of impactful solutions to urgent, mission-critical opportunities.
LBMC’s professionals together represent a broad continuum of deep financial and operational healthcare expertise. Among other things, Mark’s expertise is generally in the areas of margin improvement, post-transaction integration management, turnaround management and other operational areas – particularly in acute and subacute provider settings.
Mark is involved in several professional associations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives (Fellow, former Chapter President), Healthcare Financial Management Association (Fellow), and America’s Essential Hospitals (f/k/a National Association of Public Hospitals). Additionally, he has served on the Boards of several professional and civic organizations.
